Bild reports that Bayer Leverkusen are prepared to let Jonas Hofmann leave on a free transfer a year before his contract expires, which could save around three million euros in wages this season.
Al Shabab have ongoing interest and Hofmann, 34, is in talks with the Saudi Pro League club's representatives, though he has yet to make a final decision.

Leverkusen had already accounted for a potential exit in their squad planning under Carles Martinez.
Hofmann was left out of the Europa League squad for the start of the competition.
