Leverkusen's Ernest Poku 'set for' Beşiktaş medical | OneFootball

Ernest Poku is closing in on a move from Bayer Leverkusen to Beşiktaş, with a medical in Istanbul planned for tomorrow, Fabrizio Romano reports. The switch has been described as imminent after weeks of speculation.

A Spor reports that Beşiktaş have intervened in talks and will sign the 22-year-old on loan with an option to buy, which under certain conditions could become an obligation next summer.

An agreement with the player's representatives is said to be in place.

The loan is expected to cost around €3million, with the purchase option set at about €20million.

If the transfer becomes permanent after the loan, the Hamburg-born winger would be contracted to Beşiktaş for a further four years.

A similar package had been agreed with Fiorentina, but the player changed his mind late on.

Poku played a key role for Kasper Hjulmand last season, though the arrival of Alfonso Moreira appears to have pushed him towards the exit.
