Keane Lewis-Potter praised Jannik Schuster, Jaidon Anthony and Callum Wilson after Brentford completed their first training session at Cidade do Futebol.

Speaking after Friday's opening session of the Bees' week-long training camp in Portugal, Lewis-Potter said the club's newest arrivals have quickly settled into the group and embody the culture head coach Keith Andrews wants to build.

"They've been top," he said.

"The gaffer always speaks about bringing in good people and that's exactly what we've done.

"They've settled in really well. Hopefully we've made them feel welcome."

The Portugal camp marks another important step in Brentford's preparations for the 2026/27 Premier League campaign, with Lewis-Potter eager to use the week to build fitness ahead of the club's upcoming pre-season fixtures.

"It was good," he said of the first session.

"We travelled yesterday, so it was good to get that out of our legs. It was tough. A good first session and we can kick on from here."

The winger added that the squad has everything it needs to make the most of the training camp.

“The facilities are unbelievable here. It's got everything we need, everything we want. We're looking forward to cracking on."

Lewis-Potter has set himself clear objectives for the week in Portugal as Brentford continue to build towards the start of the new season.

"I want to get as fit as possible and get ready for the season," he explained.

"I want to push myself. We play some games when we get back.

"This week is about getting back into the rhythm, training as hard as possible and getting into good shape."

Lewis-Potter also welcomed the arrival of assistant first-team coach Damien Duff, who joined Andrews' coaching staff earlier this summer.

"He's a top addition to the group," he said.

"He brings so much experience to the squad and I'm looking forward to working with him."
