Brentford claimed a 2-0 win over Colchester United to reach the Carabao Cup third-round.
The Bees struck in the first-half through record signing Keane Lewis-Potter.
It was the 21-year-old's first goal for the club since he signed from Hull City.
Mads Bech Sorensen sealed victory by netting the second in added time.
Speaking after the match, Bees boss Thomas Frank said: "Huge praise for Colchester.
"I think they were definitely set up for a very good cup performance and they made it difficult for us. In the first 30 minutes, up until the goal, we dominated without creating chance after chance. We had one big chance for Shandon, where of course he should score.
"Then the first goal is a beautiful one. It's a pass to the opposite pocket to Shandon, a little bit on the half-turn it's a perfect pass to Keane in behind. One-nil goal, fantastic.
"We started the second half very well in the first 10-15 minutes. We should have scored, we had some very dangerous situations where we produced chances. Then we didn't, and we know this is a game where everything can happen.
"They put pressure on us, they played a bit more direct and invested a few more players forward. We managed to handle it and in the end we did the job. The good thing is, it's a clear win but full credit to Colchester."
