Lewis signs first professional deal | OneFootball

Manchester City are delighted to announce that Sacha Lewis has signed her first professional contract with the Club.

Joining the Club at Under-14 level, the exciting 18-year-old full-back has worked her way through the ranks to become a regular fixture in the Women’s First Team setup.

That included appearances in the matchday squad against Chelsea and Brighton in our opening two WSL fixtures in 2025/26, as well as against the former in a League Cup semi-final in January of this year.

An England Under-19 international, she was also part of the travelling squad in City’s Australia pre-season tour in 2024, coming off the bench in a penalty shootout victory over Leicester City in Perth.

A dynamic and dangerous full-back and younger sister of Men’s First Team star Rico Lewis, Sacha was a key figure for our Next Gen side in 2025/26.

Indeed, Lewis’ standout displays saw her named our inaugural Next Gen Player of the Season as City finished fifth in our first-ever PGA Under-21 season.

Speaking about signing her first professional contract, Sacha said: “It’s amazing. A lot of hard work was put in and it’s such a great achievement. I’m proud.

“It means so much, it means even more because I support City. Being here in the Academy, not many people get this opportunity so I’m very grateful.”

Director of Football Therese Sjogran added: “This is a special moment for Sacha and one she fully deserves.

“Her development is another demonstration of the incredible pathway our young players have to the First Team, and she’s been a shining example to her team-mates despite still being just 18.

“To that point, I would also like to thank our Head of Girls’ Academy Hannah Dingley, Lead Coach Izzy Christiansen and everyone involved in our Next Gen setup for their role in Sacha’s development.

“We’re all excited to see what she can achieve at City in the coming years. With her talent and attitude, she certainly has a bright future in the game.”
