Liam Rosenior addresses Keane Lewis-Potter rumours as Hull City reportedly make move for Brentford man | OneFootball

Hull City boss Liam Rosenior has cooled rumours that the club are lining up a swoop to bring Brentford attacker Keane Lewis-Potter back to the club.

Speaking after the match, addressing the above rumours, Rosenior told BBC Humberside Sport: “Keane’s a very, very good player but he’s not somebody who is going to be coming here or that we’ve made an offer for.

“We’re always looking.

“I always want to improve the group.”

These comments came after a recent report claimed that the Tigers were lining up a sensational return for their former star this month.

That was according to HullLive, who reported that the club had launched an audacious bid to bring Lewis-Potter back to the club ahead of the transfer deadline on tuesday night.

Their report claimed that the Tigers made a formal enquiry to the West London club, but were rebuffed in their approach, with the player understood to be keen to remain with Thomas Frank’s side.

The Bees themselves are also said to be unwilling to do business for Lewis-Potter as they see him as a valuable part of their squad moving forward.

That comes as no surprise after the club forked out a reported £25 million for his signature back in the summer.

The Verdict

Whether or not Hull did make an offer, it appears Keane Lewis-Potter certainly isn’t coming back to Hull this month.

As much as they would have loved it i’m sure, its no surprise that Brentford do not want to part ways with a player they paid so much for.

Furthermore, given he is not getting much game time in West London, the player himself probably wants to continue to try and catch the eye of Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

Indeed, as much as his goals and assists, having got 15 in total for the club last season, could come in handy as the seasons end approaches, it looks as though this is a no goer.
