Ligue 1 clubs have built a sizeable summer transfer surplus, easing the squeeze from falling TV revenues.

According to Transfermarkt, as it stands before any late deadline-day moves, French sides have sold players for close to 1.13 billion euros and spent 570 million euros, leaving a 559 million euro balance.
