Flamengo beat Remo 1-0 in Belém as Samuel Lino struck in the second half, a result that lifts the visitors from second to first in the Brasileirão.

After a patient first hour, Samuel Lino broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, sweeping in to the bottom right from Giorgian de Arrascaeta's pass.

Marcelo Rangel kept Leão Azul in it before and after the interval with sharp saves, notably thwarting Pedro from close range as Fla piled on pressure.

Five minutes were added at the end and Edson was sent off in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time, capping a frustrating finish for the hosts.

Fla's control told across the night, registering 21 attempts with five on target and 63.6% possession. Leão Azul fashioned seven attempts and forced one save from Agustín Rossi.

Next, Fla visit Independiente del Valle in the Libertadores. Leão Azul remain 19th and travel to Bahia in the Brasileirão.
