Flamengo set for congested September across Brasileirão and Libertadores | OneFootball

Flamengo closed August with a 3-0 win over Botafogo at the Maracanã, and now face a crowded September across the Brasileirão and Copa Libertadores.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the month opens on Wednesday, the second of September, when Leonardo Jardim’s side host Mirassol at 19:30, a rescheduled round-four league fixture at the Maracanã.

On Sunday, the sixth, they travel to Belém to visit Remo at 16:00 at the Mangueirão, before heading straight to Quito to prepare for the Libertadores. On Thursday, 10 September, they meet Independiente del Valle at the Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa at 21:30, the quarter-final first leg.

Back in Rio, Flamengo then play three straight at home. Corinthians arrive on Sunday, 13 September, at 17:30 in the league, followed on Thursday, 17 September, at 21:30 by the decisive second leg against Independiente del Valle. The run ends on Sunday, 20 September, at 18:30 against Bragantino.

The schedule stops after 20 September because of a FIFA international window from 21 September to 6 October. The expanded 16-day slot includes Brazil friendlies against Australia on 25 September in Townsville and on 29 September in Brisbane.
