Lionel Messi has been linked with a move to buy CD Eldense, and La Liga president Javier Tebas welcomed the idea while stressing he does not know any details.

Speaking at a Panini LaLiga EA Sports sticker album event on Wednesday, Tebas said he had only learned of the Eldense talk via the media and did not know whether Messi or a group was involved, per Mundo Deportivo.

Recent reports have connected the Inter Miami forward with a potential agreement in principle to purchase the Alicante club, which competes in Spain’s second tier.

Tebas also drew a parallel, saying Cristiano Ronaldo owns 25% of Almería, and called it an honour that both icons might invest savings to help Spanish football grow.
