Le Havre, down to 10 men, edged Toulouse 2-1 as substitute keeper Lionel Mpasi excelled and Sofiane Boufal set up Issa Soumaré’s winner. Soumaré struck twice, his first Ligue 1 brace, to deliver the points.
According to L'Équipe, Mpasi and Soumaré were rated 8, with Boufal 7.
Boufal, a winter recruit, almost scored with a long-range lob on 23 minutes. Soumaré then punished Nicolaisen’s errant back pass, racing clear to finish coolly past Restes on 43.
At half-time, Mpasi replaced the injured Diaw and immediately imposed himself under mounting pressure. He has handled his stand-in duties well this season.
Boufal’s technique told again on 54 minutes, his pass feeding Soumaré for the second. As Toulouse pushed, Mpasi made crucial interventions, including a superb reflex save at 90+3, and when he was beaten VAR intervened.
