As RAMS Park prepares for a sold-out Tuesday night, Liverpool and Galatasaray meet in a Champions League Round of 16 first leg in Istanbul, Türkiye, with a share of UEFA’s €2.4 billion prize pool at stake.

According to Turkish-Football.com, Galatasaray expect nearly €3 million in direct matchday income, with tickets gone and GS Store sales surging. It would be their most lucrative single night in a decade.

Their UEFA receipts for 2025/26 stand at €53.5 million after a play-off win over Juventus, and eliminating Liverpool would unlock a further €12.5 million for reaching the quarter-finals.

Liverpool arrive among the competition’s top earners, despite a substandard Premier League campaign by their high standards. Their Champions League income is projected to reach €97 million after a third-place finish in the league phase, placing them alongside Manchester City and just behind Bayern Munich.

Off the pitch, the club have reported record overall revenues of £703 million, equivalent to $945 million, fuelled by their return to Europe’s elite and new partnerships with Japan Airlines and Adidas. Both clubs now chase progress that could deliver another financial lift as well as a sporting one.
