Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly in the race for Leicester City academy attacker Darren Motsi.

The ‘extremely technically gifted‘ sensation Motsi is highly talented and has been watched by numerous clubs aside from the Reds and City.

The teenager was a regular with Leicester under-18s last year and has already established himself as a regular for their under-21s.

Motsi is highly rated at the King Power Stadium and has trained with the first team on several occasions.

His clips making the rounds on social media show a player with technical maturity and football intelligence beyond his years, and it is unsurprising that Liverpool are keen.

Man City have yet to make a concrete decision, but they are unlikely to want to miss out on him.

Motsi is establishing a reputation as a player who is hard to easily dispossess, as he uses his body well to shield the ball.

He is also very fast, and a move to the Premier League would appeal to him after Leicester were relegated to League One.

Liverpool and Man City have signed players from the Foxes’ academy in recent years and are hoping to do so again in the coming weeks.

Motsi may have to choose which club appeals to him the most as he will be keen to start playing first-team football very soon.

Leicester will be due compensation if he leaves, and they are unlikely to stop more youngsters from moving on in the coming months.
