In a recent post on X, journalist Sebastien Vidal claimed that Liverpool are monitoring Ajax youngster Mika Godts this summer. It has been mentioned that the Reds are open to joining Paris Saint-Germain in the race to land the Belgian wide player this off-season.

Godts’ Impressive Rise In Dutch Football

Godts enjoyed a good run of form for Ajax in the previous campaign as he put in a series of impressive displays for them on the left wing. The 21-year-old scored 17 goals and earned 13 assists in 34 league matches for the Dutch outfit last season.

The Belgian whizkid is currently among the most gifted young wide players in the Dutch Eredivisie. Hence, the Reds would do well to lure him to Anfield in this transfer period.

His current deal at the Dutch club will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Liverpool to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Liverpool Are Monitoring Godts This Summer: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Godts is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it out on the flanks. He has the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.

The Belgian sensation has already added a lot of goals and assists to his game. Godts is primarily a left-winger but can also operate as a right-sided wide player or play as a striker down the middle if required. However, it remains to be seen whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to get him on board this summer.

We can expect Godts to enhance the quality of Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s frontline in the long run. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.

At 21, the future looks quite promising for Godts as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long term, so Iraola would be wise to step up his efforts to land him later this year.
