Liverpool are now just a couple of weeks away from the start of their pre-season.
A lot of change has already occurred at Anfield with Andoni Iraola and Victor Munoz both being brought in.
This is obviously a good thing as they finished fifth last time around which is miles away from where they need to be.
However, as proven last summer, too much change all at once can be detrimental so, the sooner deals get done, the better.
But, with the amount of players that Liverpool need to bring in, it's unsurprising to see them linked with new players almost every day.
Most transfer rumours involve the Anfield outfit in one way or another and now, it feels like the Reds can capitalise on a massive mistake one of their Premier League rivals have just made.
Lucas Bergvall has been a Premier League player for two years now.
The Sweden international was brought to the club during the 2024 summer transfer window and, since then, he's been a regular feature in the plans of whichever manager was in charge of the club.
Spurs only paid around £8 million for the midfielder which, with the market as inflated as it is at the moment, was an absolute steal.
He's played 78 times for Tottenham since making the switch and has mainly played in the centre of the park.
But, now that Roberto de Zerbi has signed Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali for a combined total of £185 million, it's hard to see where players such as Bergvall and Archie Gray are going to feature in their plans.
These arrivals have seemingly caused a bit of a ruckus in N17 with Sky Sports now reporting that Bergvall has asked to leave.
"Sky Sports News has been told that Lucas Bergvall still wants to leave Tottenham," they wrote.
"However, Sky Sports News reported earlier today that Bergvall has been told he will not be leaving the club this summer.
"It is understood that the Sweden midfielder wants to play regularly in his favoured No 8 position next season and feels a move away from Spurs would allow him to do this.
"Nottingham Forest are very interested in a potential deal and expect his fee to be in line with what Brighton are paying for Spurs defender Luka Vuskovic, which was £45m plus a sell on.
"Other clubs in the Premier League, Spain, Italy and Germany are monitoring the situation around Bergvall, whose future is coming into view following Sweden's exit from the World Cup, where he was a regular starter."
Alexis Mac Allister's future is still up in the air.
The Argentinian has been playing incredibly well at the 2026 World Cup but, during the 2025-26 season for Liverpool, he was poor.
He forgot how to run and every time he found himself on the ball fans would get nervous about what he was going to do with it.
Despite this, Real Madrid have been interested in acquiring his services for the longest time.
And, even with Jose Mourinho in charge, they still have him on their shortlist.
Selling Mac Allister would probably be a good thing for Liverpool but, now that Bergvall has asked to leave, there's literally not been a better time for Liverpool to let their Argentinian go.
