Liverpool commence talks with Crystal Palace for Ismaila Sarr | OneFootball

Liverpool have entered formal negotiations with Crystal Palace to sign winger Ismaila Sarr, submitting an opening bid of around £50 million as they turn to alternative attacking targets late in the summer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds’ move for the 28-year-old Senegal international comes after their pursuit of Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh collapsed.

After Brighton turned down Liverpool’s initial offer, they submitted an improved £60m bid for Minteh. However, Brighton’s £80m demand prompted Anfield officials to walk away.

Sarr, with a proven Premier League track record, has emerged as an ideal candidate to strengthen Liverpool’s attacking options.

Sarr is eager to join Liverpool, seeing the move to Anfield as a major step-up in his career.

The winger’s willingness is expected to speed up talks over personal terms, leaving a club-to-club agreement as the main hurdle.

Liverpool’s formal approach presents Palace with a major transfer dilemma before the deadline. The South London club have already rejected two offers from Turkish giants Galatasaray for the Senegal international.

Sarr enjoyed his best scoring season in 2025-26, netting 21 goals in 45 matches across all competitions as Palace won the Conference League.
