According to a report from The Times, Liverpool considered signing Lucas Chevalier (23) before deciding to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili (25). Looking for a long-term successor for Alisson Becker, the now PSG goalkeeper was one of the names for consideration.

The Premier League champions were considering multiple names as they looked to secure a potential long-term successor for the goalkeeping position. When Chevalier was up for consideration, he was at Lille and commanded a fee of €48m before signing for PSG – a figure which was deemed to be too costly for the Reds. The Merseyside outfit also considered Porto’s Diogo Costa.
