Mohamed Salah reached a major milestone as Liverpool swept aside Galatasaray 4-0 at Anfield to book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The result sealed a 4-1 aggregate victory and set up a showdown with Paris Saint-Germain.

Trailing from the first leg, Liverpool wasted little time asserting control. Dominik Szoboszlai brought them level on aggregate midway through the first half, finishing smartly after a well-worked move.

The hosts dominated proceedings but were briefly frustrated when Salah saw a penalty saved just before the interval.

The second half told a different story. Salah responded in style, first setting up Hugo Ekitike with a driven cross to complete the turnaround. Moments later, his saved effort fell kindly for Ryan Gravenberch, who converted to put Liverpool firmly in command.

Salah then provided the standout moment of the night, cutting inside and curling a superb effort into the top corner to register his 50th goal in the competition - a landmark that makes him the first African player to reach that figure.

It was a commanding display from Arne Slot’s side, who now head into the last eight full of confidence after one of their most complete performances of the season.
