Liverpool have their eyes tentatively on a bombshell double deal. It's one that would transform the team.

Liverpool are busy weighing up their options ahead of the transfer window. It's clear to all that this squad needs something a little new if they're to push on - this is an imbalanced group that has square pegs in round holes.

That's true both up top and in midfield. You can even argue it's there in defence - Ronald Araujo isn't a natural right-back, even if he's currently playing very well.

So signings will have to happen, given the answers aren't necessarily in the squad right now. It's difficult, for one, to answer the problem of zero right-wingers to choose from without signing a right-winger.

Liverpool eye signings

Liverpool are currently looking at one club for two signings, opening the door to a potential double-deal. That club is AS Monaco, who sit two points clear at the top of Ligue 1 after the weekend's results.

Lamine Camara is one of those who Liverpool like a lot. Journalist Ben Jacobs claimed at the transfer deadline that the Reds were keen, making a call to club and player to alert them to interest in 2027.

It's one we certainly hope is true. Camara is a brilliant player and one who could give Liverpool exactly what they're lacking in midfield - we're massive fans, in other words.

But he's not the only Monaco star currently being scouted. Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool continue to watch Paris Brunner, who has started the season on fire.

The German has six goals in seven matches to kick off the campaign - and this from a player who didn't score last season. The youngster looks like one to watch and Liverpool are certainly doing that.

Brunner could bring the goal scoring squad depth that Liverpool currently lack. Of course, part of the reason they lack that is because Hugo Ekitiké remains injured, but it's possible that the Reds see value in having all three.

They're considering the option, anyway. And Monaco's financial position may just make it all relatively routine to get done.
