Liverpool finally admit disaster with RUTHLESS decision

Liverpool have finally admitted their season is a disaster. That's if reports of a ruthless decision are indeed correct.

Liverpool's season has been awful, with the Reds suffering six defeats in their last seven Premier League games. And that's not even counting the loss at Galatasaray or the thumping Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.

In fact, it started poorly with the Community Shield defeat on penalties and only a series of late goals rescued Liverpool's early-season form. Where would they be if the luck had deserted them in those fixtures?

Liverpool, then, do not look like title contenders. They certainly won't be winning the Carabao Cup, while the UEFA Champions League looks miles beyond them on current form.

The FA Cup? Well, the chances of Liverpool going unbeaten through a domestic tournament look pretty close to zero right now.

And it looks like the club are just about admitting that with a ruthless reported decision.

Liverpool to axe Ibrahima Konate

It's reported by Bild's Christian Falk that Liverpool are ready to sell Ibrahima Konate if he doesn't renew his contract this season. Konate's deal expires in the summer, meaning he has a little over a month before the Reds look to move him on for some sort of transfer fee.

Now, whether they can actually find a buyer in January is another matter. The intention, though, shows where Liverpool are at.

Go back a year ago and Liverpool were in a similar position. They rejected an offer from Real Madrid for Trent Alexander-Arnold despite knowing they'd probably lose him at the end of the campaign for free.
