Liverpool have the go-ahead to sign one of their main transfer targets. Now it's up to Richard Hughes and company.
Liverpool may have got through a lot of business in the summer but there's more to do. It's all part of a squad overhaul that the Reds started planning in 2024.
That first summer saw next to no incoming players as Liverpool sought to keep the squad consistent. They had a look at it in Arne Slot's first season and then went from there.
Of course, no one really expected Slot to win the Premier League with that squad. That certainly opened more doors for signings in 2025.
And Liverpool made them. They spent over £450m on new players, bringing in over £200m in sales. The Reds twice broke their transfer record and the deal for Alexander Isak set a new British transfer record.
But they're still not done. There are other major signings on the way and it appears Liverpool have a green light on one of them.
Talksport claims Antoine Semenyo has a release clause in his Bournemouth contract. However, it's not known what the amount is.
The report mentions Liverpool as 'big admirers' - hardly a shock after a brilliant campaign last season has been followed with an electric start in 2025/26. Now it seems the Reds can sign the player with that release clause, should they convince the player.
