In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus revealed that Liverpool have set their sights on Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise. It is understood that the Reds have identified the French talent as an ideal long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Olise’s Impressive Numbers In German Football

Olise enjoyed a productive campaign at the Bavarian club after he produced a string of solid displays for them in the final third. The French wing wizard made 55 appearances for Bayern Munich last season, scoring 20 times and earning 23 assists in multiple competitions.

The 23-year-old managed to shine on the right flank as he averaged 3.32 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He kept 41.9% of his attempts on target. Olise even distributed the ball well in the opponent’s half, based on his pass completion rate of 81.4% in the German first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Allianz Arena will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Liverpool to snap him up on the cheap in this transfer window.

Will Olise Be A Dream Option For Liverpool Boss Arne Slot?

Olise is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field.

The French sensation is also a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. Olise is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also serve as an attacking midfielder if asked to do so. He has already got some Premier League experience under his belt from his time at Crystal Palace and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Liverpool.

Olise would add more firepower to Arne Slot’s attack. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Merseyside club in the coming years.

At 23, Olise has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Reds to consider next year. He will also help Liverpool compete for a lot of major honours over the next few years. All in all, Olise would be a dream option for the Merseyside club to pursue in 2026.
