Liverpool lining up sensational move to bring back their own Paul Pogba | OneFootball

Liverpool are now looking at signing their very own Paul Pogba and bringing him back to the club.

The Reds desperately need to invest in their midfield. Since the summer of 2023, when they did sign four midfielders in fairness, they have not brought in further reinforcements in that department.

Even this summer after Curtis Jones departed for pastures new, Liverpool ignored the position deciding to promote the phenomenally talented Trey Nyoni instead.

Nyoni is an excellent midfielder and he does deserve a bigger role in the team. However, he doesn't solve the Reds' issues completely.

Right now, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch are like opposite magnets, who just don't fit together in a double pivot.

It's why Liverpool need a different profile of a midfielder.

Liverpool's attempts to sign a midfielder

The Reds have long sought to bring in a more defensive minded midfielder.

It started with the pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni, which failed. That was followed by a double failure when trying to lure Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Anfield.

And then it was Martin Zubimendi's turn to reject the advances of the Reds. He decided to stay at Real Sociedad before ultimately joining Arsenal.

This summer Liverpool did explore a move for Lamine Camara, who came close to signing for Chelsea and that would have been another player they missed out on.

But in the end, Camara stayed at Monaco, and he may be a player the Reds will target next year. But he won't be the only one.

Tyler Morton could become Liverpool's own Pogba

According to a report in TEAMtalk, Liverpool are one of the clubs considering a move for the Lyon midfielder in 2027.

The report claims Morton is liked by a number of potential clubs with the Reds being among them.

Obviously, Morton came through the ranks at Liverpool's academy and even made several appearances for the first-team. He was part of the Reds' first-team squad as they won the Premier League under Arne Slot.

Then Morton was sold to Lyon, where he has thrived in Ligue 1 - establishing himself as one of the best young midfielders in the league.

Now, the Reds look like they are lining up a move for him. And in the process they could be signing their very own Pogba, considering Manchester United did the same with the Frenchman. They sold him to Juventus and then brought him back for a lot more money.
