Liverpool midfielder Lundgaard joins Eintracht Frankfurt | OneFootball

Liverpool midfielder Sofie Lundgaard has joined German Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this morning.

The 24-year-old midfielder joined Liverpool from Danish club Fortuna Hjørring in January 2023. Lundgaard has gone on to make 42 appearances for the Merseysiders in all competitions. The midfielder would have made a greater impact for The Reds if not for a couple of long-term injuries.

After joining Eintracht Frankfurt, Lundgaard said “Frankfurt is an incredibly exciting club with big ambitions. That suits me and my goals perfectly. I’ve only heard good things about the club, and it’s especially advantageous at the beginning that there are already many Scandinavian players here.

“As a player, I’m characterised by my hard work, my love of having the ball at my feet, and my constant focus on defence. I’ve had a few setbacks recently due to injuries, but I’m feeling great right now and ready to give 100-percent.

“I’m very happy to now be part of Eintracht and can’t wait to get started.”

Lundgaard has signed an initial three-year deal with Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the 2026/2027 Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga season.
