Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara follow Jurgen Klopp out of the Anfield exit door before Arne Slot era begins
The Spanish stopper is due to be out of contract at Anfield at the end of June, but is one of three goalkeepers to now be offered fresh terms along with youngsters Jacob Poytress and Reece Trueman.
Adrian has been with Liverpool since leaving West Ham on a free transfer in the summer of 2019, making 26 appearances across all competitions since then.
The 37-year-old is currently third-choice option between the posts behind Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher, filling in on the bench when the former missed time through injury in Jurgen Klopp’s last season at the helm.
However, he did not make a single competitive appearance this term and has not played for Liverpool at all since the 2022 Community Shield victory over Manchester City in Leicester.

Adrian’s last Premier League outing came all the way back in February 2021 against Sheffield United, with his only other appearance since then coming in a Carabao Cup fourth-round victory at Preston in October 2021.
However, Liverpool clearly still value his experience, particularly amid reports that Kelleher may look to leave Merseyside this summer amid interest from the likes of Celtic and Wolves.
The Reds are saying farewell to Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara this summer ahead of new boss Arne Slot’s first term in charge, as well as academy graduate left-back Adam Lewis.
Centre-back Matip and midfield playmaker Thiago both endured injury-plagued seasons and neither have been handed new contracts, having made 201 and 98 appearances respectively in Liverpool red.
Matip’s campaign was ended by an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered against Fulham in December that required surgery, while Thiago made just one brief substitute’s cameo - away at Arsenal in early February - as his injury nightmare continued.
Former England Under-20 defender Lewis rose through the academy ranks at Liverpool, but made only one senior appearance - against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup in February 2020 - as he spent time out on loan with Amiens, Plymouth and Livingston. He spent the last two seasons with Newport in League Two.
German Under-19 international Melkamu Frauendorf and Polish forward Mateusz Musialowski - with three senior appearances between them - are also leaving at the end of their respective contracts, along with academy youngsters Nathan Giblin, Francis Gyimah, Luke Hewitson, Niall Osborne and Cody Pennington.
