In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Liverpool remain keen on recruiting Inter Milan midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic. It has been claimed that the Reds are still showing interest in acquiring the services of the Serbian talent.
Stankovic enjoyed a decent run of form at the Milan club in the previous campaign when he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 21-year-old registered nine goals and grabbed five assists in 55 appearances for Inter Milan last season across all fronts.
The Serbian sensation is currently among the most gifted central midfielders in Serie A. Hence, it is no wonder that the Reds are still eyeing a move to sign him next year.
His current contract at San Siro will run out in the summer of 2031, which could make it tough for Liverpool to land him on a cut-price deal this January or at the end of this campaign.

Stankovic loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team when defending inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and generates some power with his shot attempts from long range.
The Serbian sensation has the vision to create some promising chances for his teammates to score and is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. Stankovic is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also function as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical demands and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to snap him up next year.
We can expect Stankovic to add more quality and depth to Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s midfield. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming years.
At 21, the future looks quite promising for Stankovic as long as he continues to improve with each season. He would be a great option for the Reds to consider in the long run, so Iraola would be wise to step up his efforts to land him in 2027.
