Liverpool still have a lot of things to figure out this summer.
The Anfield outfit were expected to go through a lot of changes and, while some have occurred, it still doesn't seem like Liverpool are ready to start challenging for the Premier League title again.
Their performances last term were well below the standards expected of them which led to a fifth-place finish.
In a normal season, qualifying for the Champions League would be solid but, after they'd only just won the title the season before, it was a massive fall from grace.
This led to fans questioning what the future had in store for their team and its squad.
And now, an obvious clue about the future of one player has been shared.
For the longest time now, Liverpool's academy has been seen as one of the best in the world.
Steven Gerrard, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones are just some of the players who have made their way through the Reds' ranks and into their senior squad.
However, with Arne Slot in charge for the last couple of seasons, most of the youngsters were overlooked which meant that they spent most of their time on the bench.
Or, in some cases, some players were sent out on loan to try and improve their skills.
James McConnell was one of these and, even though he's not been moved on yet, it seems like he could be about to exit Anfield soon which, realistically could mean that Trey Nyoni is going to stay put and play a big role.
"Despite a false flag Nyoni went on the Liverpool USA tour and impressed, so did McConnell, if Nyoni goes out on loan now it will be a late decision. McConnell is a different kettle of fish, he could be a Preston player this week," the Swansea independent wrote.
"Any thoughts on him coming to Swansea will mean a late surge of interest to jump on that Preston move. He has been in discussions since Friday.
"The reports of constant interest in McConnell are only reflected in Vitor’s discussions in May and July as you have read on the Indy. We have been told that Preston are in the box seats and there’s been little in transfer talk speculation of his Swansea arrival."

Of all he youngsters that Liverpool have among their ranks at the moment, Nyoni is one of the highest-rated.
The 18-year-old made a few appearances for Slot last term with only Rio Ngumoha making more appearances.
Each player looks likely to have a massive future ahead of them and, since McConnell seems to be about to pack his bags and leave, it does feel like Nyoni could have a big part to play for Iraola.
Curtis Jones is also on the brink of leaving and, with Liverpool seeming highly unlikely to sign a new central midfielder this summer, there's obviously going to be room for Nyoni to make an impact.
This is great for Liverpool as it'll mean that some homegrown players are actually getting some playing time and it will also allow them to develop one of their top prospects.
Here's hoping that everything lines up to make this a reality.
