Liverpool remain keen on signing Crystal Palace attacker Ismaila Sarr despite closing in on a deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, according to the Independent journalist Miguel Delaney.
The Anfield club have agreed a £120 million deal for the Frenchman but Reds manager Andoni Iraola wants two more attacking signings before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
Palace have rejected a £50 million offer from Liverpool for Sarr, but the Merseyside club are not giving up yet and could return with an improved bid.
While the Reds have moved on from Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yankuba Minteh following the Seagulls’ resistance, a deal to bring in Sarr remains in their plans.
The 28-year-old Senegal international can play on the right wing, which is a crucial position Liverpool wants to strengthen following Mohamed Salah’s exit.
Sarr wants to join the Reds and reaching personal terms with him will not be an issue.
Palace want to hold on to the Senegalese but a juicy deal could be enough to get them to part ways with him.
Sarr has proven himself over the years, bagging 21 goals across all competitions for the Eagles last term as they won the Europa Conference League.
The Liverpool target bagged four goals and one assist in four appearances at the World Cup and will be a solid addition to the Reds’ attack.
Sarr boasts a brilliant goal record against the 20-time top-flight winners.
He has seven goals to his name in 10 appearances against them in all competitions for Palace and former club Watford, and it is clear to see why they want him on their side.
