A journalist has revealed when Liverpool will send their third bid to Brighton for Yankuba Minteh ahead of the summer transfer deadline.

The only permanent signings the Reds have made so far this summer have been Victor Munoz from Osasuna and Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes, while Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo has arrived on a loan deal from Barcelona.

Liverpool are now prioritising at least one new winger with the Reds currently negotiating to bring in Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain and Minteh from Brighton.

The Reds are looking to pay a lot less than PSG’s original €170m asking price, although recent reports insist that the French champions could do business between €130m and €150m.

And Daily Mail journalist Lewis Steele insists that Liverpool ‘remain hopeful’ that they can strike a deal for Barcola this week and avoid going to deadline day next week.

Steele wrote: ‘Liverpool remain hopeful of signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola this week and are weighing up whether to make a third bid for Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh. Those will be crucial additions, given the wide options are limited at present.

‘But signing a deep-lying midfielder is just as important. They could have the best front three in the world yet they will win no trophies if they are so vulnerable and exposed to the counter-attack like they were here.’

Fabrizio Romano revealed over the weekend that Liverpool have “agreeed personal terms” with Minteh as the Reds continue to negotiate a fee.

Romano told Caught Offside on Sunday: “Minteh already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, he wants the move, he dreams of joining Liverpool after some African players did great there – from Mo Salah to his idol Sadio Mane.”

Liverpool ‘third bid’ now lodged for Minteh

Liverpool have already had two bids turned down by Brighton as they look to convince the Seagulls to part with the Gambia international.

And now Gambian journalist Foday Manneh, who was first to the recent news of Liverpool’s concrete interest, insists that the Merseysiders are now preparing to lodge a third offer, which could already be with Brighton.

Manneh posted on X in early hours of Monday: ‘Yankuba Minteh to #LFC ; a 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐃 𝐁𝐈𝐃 is expected to be sent to Brighton either tonight or Monday morning. They have discussed and are ready to go with an improved and convincing offer. The player continues to wait to formalise personal terms.’

Speaking last week on potential late transfers, Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola commented: “Some deals you have to wait until the end. But the end is the important picture, the one we will have on September 1, because it is true that we are still quite thin.”
