Liverpool‘s defence of the Premier League title has been dubbed ‘absolutely disgraceful’ by former top flight defender Jason Cundy, who thinks Arne Slot’s position must be called into question.
Slot’s steady hand managed to guide Liverpool to a 20th top flight title last season and hopes were high the Reds would challenge again on the back of a summer of heavy spending.
The club spent over £200m on just two players in the shape of Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, while also splashing big cash on other stars, including Hugo Ekitike.
The size of the squad overhaul recently saw one Liverpool legend stressing time is needed to gel in the new players.
However, the manner of how Liverpool are being beaten is something that has alarmed another former Red.
They were thrashed 3-0 at Anfield by Nottingham Forest on Saturday to mean they have now astonishingly lost six of their last seven league games.

Real questions are being asked about Slot’s management as Liverpool slide down the Premier League standings at a rapid rate and now sit in the bottom half.
Only Wolves have a worse record than Liverpool over the last six league games and Cundy thinks the way they are defending their title is disgraceful, with questions over Slot’s job.
Cundy said on talkSPORT (22nd November, 17:00): “When are we going to talk about Slot losing his job?
“This is a disgraceful defence of the Premier League.

“Absolutely disgraceful and no sign of it ending.”
Liverpool have traditionally displayed a large amount of patience when managers have not produced the required results, although the club’s American owners did sack Roy Hodgson mid-season with the side in freefall.
They also brought the curtain down on club legend Kenny Dalglish, sacking him when they saw no sign of progress.
It remains to be seen for how long Liverpool’s owners will stick with Slot if the club’s slide continues, with now real questions over whether the Reds can even finish in a Champions League spot, which would have real financial ramifications.
