Liverpool are set to enter the race for Real Madrid star Rodrygo, according to Foot Mercato.
The Reds are in the market for a potential replacement for Luis Diaz, who is poised to leave the club this summer amid strong interest from Bayern Munich.
The Colombian winger has already given the Bundesliga champions the green light to pursue a deal, but they are yet to match Liverpool’s asking price.
They have tabled an initial £45 million offer, but Liverpool will only consider selling for around £70m.
Both clubs are still locked in negotiations, but Liverpool are already looking at possible replacements for Diaz, and Rodrygo is on their radar.
The Brazilian winger is unsettled at Madrid and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. Arsenal are considered front-runners, but Liverpool are now in the mix.
Rodrygo has slipped down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu. He was once considered untouchable, but that has changed since Xabi Alonso took the reins at Madrid.
The former Santos prodigy notched 14 goals and 11 assists in 54 appearances across all competitions last season.
Liverpool haven’t opened talks yet, but that could change once Diaz secures a move to Bayern. Madrid are reportedly demanding at least £86m for Rodrygo.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have also made enquiries for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
The Reds have a hole burning in their pocket after going last summer without making any real changes in their squad.
They have already splashed a British record fee to land Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. But they’re not done yet. They’re now pushing for another blockbuster deal to sign Isak.
Newcastle have previously slapped a £150m price tag on the Swedish striker.
However, Liverpool are looking to agree a deal in the region of £120m and could move forward with a bid once Darwin Nunez finalises a transfer to Napoli.
