Liverpool have accepted a late offer for a forward. He'll now leave the club on loan for the rest of the season.

It's transfer deadline day and Liverpool have some deals to get through. Exactly how many of those will be incoming deals, however, is unclear.

That is becoming more clear, though: we're expecting zero. Liverpool appear to be happy with their squad as it is, despite literally every onlooker disagreeing. Still, for whatever reason, they're not moving.

Today will be about departures, then, and getting a few players new clubs. There are a lot to get through, too, as Liverpool have a load of stars who aren't going to play for the first-team this season.

Harvey Elliott is one of those, and he's primed to join Valencia. Federico Chiesa's future is still up in the air, too, but we're expecting him to stay put at this stage.

Keyrol Figueroa, however, will leave Liverpool on loan. The forward's contract was set to expire this summer but he surprisingly agreed a new contract with the Reds, despite no real evidence that he'd play senior football for them.

And the club have waited until the end of the transfer window to sort his short-term future - another strange move for a player who was never going to play. The Athletic reported on Monday that there were two offers in for Figueroa but neither had been accepted heading into the deadline.

James Pearce has confirmed that one has now been green lit, though: a loan to League Two side Port Vale. Figueroa will spend the season there where he can hopefully get a full campaign of senior football.

The striker made his international debut for Honduras this year and will hope to use that to kick on further. There's never been any question that the raw ingredients were there for him - just questions over whether he can put it all together to make it at the top level.

This loan will give everyone a better idea of just how likely that is. The new contract this summer suggested Liverpool have some sort of hope that it'll still happen for Figueroa.
