Mohamed Salah pushing to return as Reds get new fitness boost
Conor Bradley is back in the fold for Liverpool as they visit Leeds, though Mohamed Salah has once again been benched.
The defending Premier League champions flattered to deceive against Sunderland in midweek, scraping a 1-1 draw at Anfield after they had fallen behind to Chemsdine Talbi’s goal.
Their performance against the Black Cats was poor, and Slot may think about changing things around once more with his starting XI for the trip to Leeds.
Alisson continues in goal, and there is no deviation from the usual defensive formula, with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate assuming their positions.
Bradley returns to start at right-back in a considerable boost for the Reds.
With Salah remaining on the bench, Slot has opted for a front three of Hugo Ekitike, Cody Gakpo, and Florian Wirtz. The German is still in the hunt for his first Liverpool goal, and will hope to offer some attacking impetus from the wings today.
In the engine room, Dominik Szoboszlai returns in midfield with Alexis Mac Allister back on the bench after struggling against Sunderland.
Alexander Isak was starved of quality service too, and he drops out of the side in favour of Hugo Ekitike, who could lay claim to a role as first-choice striker with an impressive performance at Elland Road.
Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Jones Szoboszlai; Wirtz, Ekitike, Gakpo
