Liverpool now know their full fixture list for the league phase for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League.

On Thursday, the Reds discovered which eight teams they’d be facing in the 36-team ‘Swiss model’ format, which is now in use for a third season and has seen the Merseysiders finish in the top eight in both of its previous editions.

A repeat in the next few months would see Andoni Iraola’s side avoid the potential bear pit of a knockout play-off round in February and advance straight to the round of 16 the following month, so that’s the clear target for LFC under their new head coach.

Just after midday on Saturday, UEFA published the full fixture list for the league phase of the Champions League, with Liverpool’s eight matches as follows:

Liverpool face some daunting pinch points during the winter

Liverpool begin their Champions League campaign at home to Atletico Madrid for the second successive season, having won 3-2 in a dramatic encounter at Anfield last September.

The daunting trip to Istanbul in November sees the Reds take on Fenerbahce three days after they welcome Arsenal to Anfield in the Premier League and four days before a tough top-flight fixture away to Crystal Palace.

Later that month, Iraola’s side are in Belgium to face Club Brugge in between two of their most eagerly anticipated domestic assignments, with that game sandwiched by Manchester United’s visit to Anfield and the Merseyside derby away to Everton.

A fiendish fortnight in January sees Liverpool host Palace before travelling to the San Siro to face Inter in the penultimate Champions League matchday. Then comes a league fixture at Old Trafford, a potential do-or-die European clash at home to Lens, and the derby at Anfield to round off a hectic month.

Reds fans can now start planning their European nights in earnest, with some difficult yet hugely exciting fixtures in the calendar for the next few months.
