When Jeremie Frimpong was signed from Bayer Leverkusen over the summer for £29.5m it was expected that he would succeed Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.
But the Dutchman, 25, is actually far more at home either at wing-back, right midfield or else further up as a winger. Frimpong has been injured over the past couple of weeks - suffering his second hamstring strain of the season.
But according to Liverpool insider Lewis Steele it looks like the former Celtic star will be ready to take over from Salah as soon as he jets out.
Along with fellow right-sider Conor Bradley - who has also been out injured - Frimpong is expected to come back into the fray in only a couple of weeks. That coincides nicely with Salah’s due departure date.
