A summer of huge change at Chelsea had another element added to it this week with the announcement that Sam Kerr will be leaving the club at the end of her contract, meaning tomorrow’s game against Man U at Stamford Bridge is her last.
Kerr has plenty of records and trophies to her name already. But there is a very juicy one just out of reach. She’s one goal behind Fran Kirby in the all time list of Chelsea scorers. Two goals would put her clear at the top, an incredible way to go out.
It’s a little much to ask, but you can bet she’ll be doing all she can to get there.
“That’s what I love doing – breaking records and scoring goals,” said Kerr on the club’s official website.
“So of course, I have my eye on it, but to be a part of Chelsea’s history is something that I’ll be forever proud of and it means a lot.”
Barcelona are showing an interest in Chelsea striker Joao Pedro, and their sporting director is apparently in London for a meeting about a potential transfer.
Levi Colwill is going to be included in England’s 55 man preliminary World Cup squad, and looks like he’s got a chance of doing even better than that.
