After a long wait, Ansu Fati is finally back firing on all cylinders and showing flashes of the devastating talent that made him a Barcelona sensation.
Wearing the Monaco shirt, the Spanish forward continued his remarkable scoring streak in Ligue 1 with a brace against Nice.
Both goals came from the penalty spot, reflecting the full trust his new manager and teammates place in him and his willingness to take responsibility in crucial moments.
Since joining Monaco on loan from Barcelona, Ansu has made an immediate impact. In just five appearances, he has scored six goals, often crucial for his team’s success.
These numbers place him among the top scorers in Ligue 1, alongside Joaquin Panichelli for Strasbourg.
For what it is worth, his performances are attracting attention and raising the debate whether Spain’s national coach, Luis de la Fuente, should call him up for future matches.
Ansu’s start to the season has been electric. He opened his account against Club Brugge in the Champions League and followed up with a brace against Metz.
In the last three games he has played, he has scored three goals while only missing out against Manchester City in a 2-2 draw.
Before the match against Nice, Monaco manager Adi Hutter praised the Barcelona prodigy, saying,
“Ansu is on the right track at the moment, although we have to manage him carefully because we have a lot of games in this period,” he told the press (h/t Monaco Tribune)
Even though Ansu is currently on loan, Barcelona fans have plenty to celebrate. His time in France is helping him regain his top form and confidence, setting the stage for a strong return next summer.
The youngster looks ready to recapture the spark that once made him a rising star at Camp Nou.
