Thembinkosi Lorch continued his red-hot form as he found the back of the net in Wydad Athletic Club's 2-1 victory over Olympic Club de Safi in the Botola Pro League on Sunday.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates star broke the deadlock 26 minutes from kick-off, before Nordin Amrabat doubled the lead from the spot on the stroke of halftime.
Safi pulled one back in the 81st minute through Sofiane El Moudane, who calmly slotted home from the penalty spot.
As a result, Wydad climbed to the summit of the Botola Pro League standings, having accumulated 20 points from eight league outings.
Meanwhile, Lorch has now scored in back-to-back league games and took his tally to five goals in nine matches across all competitions.
However, despite his redemption, the 32-year-old is seemingly not in the plans of Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos, who cited age as a factor.
It remains to be seen whether Lorch can forcefully play himself into the national team fold, with the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) on the horizon.
