Lorenzo Lucca would prefer to remain in Serie A if he leaves Napoli this window, complicating Benfica's move.
According to Glorioso 1904, the striker has set a clear short-term preference. Rui Costa's hierarchy had identified him as an ideal addition in attack, yet his reluctance to change country is a significant hurdle.
Benfica face strong competition, with Nothingham Forest, Porto, Juventus, Lazio, Betis and Roma also in the race.
The deal is viewed as highly complex, with the package around 30 million euros. That financial weight, allied to his geographic preference, leaves the move to the Estádio da Luz looking close to impossible.
This season for Napoli, Lucca, valued at 25 million euros, has made 20 appearances, 14 in Serie A, four in the Champions League, one in the Supercoppa and one in the Coppa Italia. Across 570 minutes he has scored two goals. He is under contract until June 2028.
