Lorient host Toulouse in Ligue 1 on Saturday, 12 September 2026 at Stade du Moustoir - Yves Allainmat, with the hosts targeting a climb from the early pack and the visitors looking to step out of the relegation places.
Toulouse have edged the recent head-to-heads, winning four of the listed meetings to Lorient's one, with four draws also recorded. The fixture returns to Brittany after last season's split results.
Lorient arrive on the back of a solid start: a goalless draw at Nice, a narrow home defeat by Troyes and a 1-0 win away at Lens. That run included two clean sheets from three and only two goals conceded. Toulouse have taken one point from three games after defeats to Lyon and LOSC either side of a 2-2 draw at Brest, scoring twice and conceding five.
Availability could matter. Bandiougou Fadiga is injured for Lorient. Toulouse list Abu Francis and goalkeeper Guillaume Restes as injured.
The hosts' defensive base has been reliable so far, and they may look to build again through tidy possession and quick transitions. Panos Katseris has already supplied an assist this season per the league charts, while Cristian Casseres appears on Toulouse's assists list and could connect midfield to attack for Santiago Hidalgo and Jacen Russell-Rowe. With neither side prolific yet, set pieces and wide deliveries could offer a route to chances.
A win would move Lorient to seven points and could lift them further up the table. Toulouse, currently 17th, could climb out of the bottom three with a positive result before hosting Le Havre next weekend.
