The LOSC winger was forced off early during Les Dogues' 5-1 win over Troyes on Sunday. The 26-year-old left the pitch on a stretcher in the eighth minute and reappeared in the dugout on crutches.

On Tuesday, the Lille-based club stated that "additional examinations, carried out on Monday evening, revealed that the Lille No.11 is suffering from a muscular injury to his right quadriceps. He is expected to be out of action for an estimated six to eight weeks."

LOSC's list grows long For LOSC, who have been in good form since the start of the season (2 wins and 2 draws), this is a major loss as the number 11 (one goal and one assist this season) has played in LOSC's last 13 Ligue 1 Uber Eats matches. His absence is expected to last several weeks, and comes in addition to those of Jonathan Bamba, Ismaily, Jonas Martin, Andre Gomes and Gabriel Gudmundsson. For his part, José Fonte returned from injury against ESTAC, coming on for the last quarter of an hour.
