Former Germany international and World Cup winner Lothar Matthäus has praised the transfer activity of Borussia Dortmund..

He also believes that one more player is needed to complete the transfer window.

The Black and Yellows have been trying to land Cologne’s Said El Mala for weeks.

Matthäus agrees with the club’s efforts to sign the 19-year-old. “If I were Dortmund, I would now consistently push ahead with the signing and meet Cologne’s financial demands,” he wrote in his Sky Germany column.

Matthäus believes El Mala is is a highly rated player whose stock will continue to rise in the future.

“The departures of Adeyemi, Brandt and Süle have also given the club some leeway in terms of personnel costs,” he further added.

According to Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund’s El Mala will amount to €48m plus €2m in bonuses and €5m in bonuses to be achieved over a longer period. This offer has been deemed an acceptable one for Cologne.
