Luan Peres trained in the gym with the Santos squad on Thursday but remains under assessment by the club.

He started Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Mirassol at José Maria de Campos Maia in the fifth round, but went off injured on 28 minutes of the second half. The club said he left with cramps and, having suffered a first-half sprain, will be re-evaluated before Sunday’s match at 16:00 at Vila Belmiro in the sixth round.

This year he has featured in five of nine Paulistão matches and has started all five Brasileiro rounds so far.

The defender returned for a second spell at Santos late in 2024 after an LCM, scoring one goal in five Série B outings that year. Last season brought 24 Brasileiro appearances, 11 in the Paulistão and one in the Copa do Brasil, plus two friendlies.

Under contract until December 2027, he has one goal in 143 matches for Santos, 90 of them in his first stint.

Born in São Paulo, he turns 32 in July and has played for Portuguesa, Santa Cruz, Red Bull Brasil, Ituano, Ponte Preta, Fluminense, Club Brugge, Olympique de Marseille and Fenerbahçe. He first joined Santos on loan from the Belgian club in 2019 before a permanent move.
