Luc Holtz set to leave Ligue 2 side FC Metz | OneFootball

Luc Holtz, who only arrived at FC Metz this summer, replacing Benoit Tavenot, is set to be sacked, as per a report from L’Équipe. The Ligue 2 club are already working on nominating a replacement for the Luxembourgish manager.

Holtz joined Les Grenats following their relegation to Ligue 2 last summer. His predecessor, Tavenot, endured a torrid stint at the club, failing to win any of his 16 games in charge after replacing Stéphane Le Mignan in January. The objective set for Holtz was clear: promotion back to Ligue 1. However, heading into the international break, Metz sit fifth in Ligue 2, six points off league leaders AS Saint-Étienne.

Despite Holtz’s contract running until 2028, talks are underway in order to end their collaboration. Grégory Proment looks like the most likely candidate to replace him, L’Équipe understands. He is particularly appreciated by Robert Pires, who joined Metz as an ambassador in June.
