CAF has issued sanctions after Algeria’s 2-0 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final loss to Nigeria.

Tensions flared at full time as Algerian players and staff first confronted the referee, then match officials in the tunnel, prompting an investigation. The Algerian federation said in a statement that it contests the sanctions and has lodged an appeal.
