Lucas Chevalier returned for PSG, coming on at half-time in the 0-3 at Mallorca on Wednesday night, his first appearance since 23 January. According to L'Équipe, Paris still plan to recruit another goalkeeper, so little changes for him.
PSG are preparing to sign the Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, 23, for €35m. He could be loaned to Juventus this season, with the aim of having him in Paris in a year.
Being PSG’s number two at present makes it hard to see a pathway.
That scenario means either Chevalier, 24, under contract until 2030, or Matveï Safonov, 27, might not be at the club next year. It would depend on how the competition for the position evolves during the coming season and the assessment made then.
The coming season’s competition in goal could decide who remains in place.
