Flamengo have cleared Lucas Paquetá to return from the injury that ended his World Cup, and the midfielder is now racing to regain fitness for the rest of the season.
The player said in a post that he was back, grateful to God, happy and motivated, sharing images of ball work at Ninho do Urubu on Friday.
Paquetá is scheduled to speak to the media on Monday at the Ninho do Urubu training centre after team activities, with a 10:30 start, Brasília time.
He sustained a grade two injury to the back of his left thigh in the first half of Brazil’s 2-1 win over Japan. He stayed on until the interval but did not reappear.
He did not take part in Brazil’s round of 16 defeat by Norway. He remained on the World Cup roster amid hopes of a 19 July final return, but needed two more weeks. His focus now is conditioning before rejoining matches.
