Lucas Paquetá came off the bench to score Flamengo’s equaliser at Cruzeiro on Wednesday 12, then said he is not yet at full fitness, according to Coluna Do Fla.
Cruzeiro led through Arroyo. Paquetá replaced Arrascaeta, then with his first touch turned in a rebound after a shot hit the post at the Mineirão.
He praised the squad’s quality and was pleased to take the decision back home. Paquetá said it was only his second match and he felt the physical demands. He hopes that with more minutes, possibly one more game, he could reach 100%.
The midfielder sustained a thigh muscle injury while with Brazil at the World Cup. He is still regaining rhythm, having had minutes only against Vitória in the last Brasileirão round and now versus Cruzeiro.
Flamengo’s next chance comes on Sunday 16 against Mirassol in the 23rd round of the Brasileirão at the Maião, kick-off 18:30 Brasília time.
The Libertadores last 16 tie is 1-1 on aggregate, with the second leg at the Maracanã on Wednesday 19 at 21:30 Brasília time.
