Lucas Perri leaves Leeds for Torino on season-long loan as Zetterer nears | OneFootball

Lucas Perri has left Leeds United for Torino on a season-long loan, ahead of the imminent arrival of Michael Zetterer as back-up to James Trafford.

It is understood Torino have an option to buy at the end of the loan. The club said in a statement that Perri made 16 Premier League appearances, debuted against Everton, starred in shootout wins over Birmingham City and West Ham United during the FA Cup run to the semi-final, and they wished him well.

The Brazilian joined from Lyon last summer for £16m to become Leeds’ new number one, staying in goal when fit until Daniel Farke changed course in January.

Karl Darlow then took over and played every minute of the final 12 league games, with Perri limited to FA Cup outings. Darlow left this summer on a free to Manchester United as back-up.

Leeds have since landed James Trafford from Manchester City for a club-record £40m plus add-ons. Completion of Perri’s Torino move was delayed by a minor injury and by the need to secure a new number two.
