Sevilla are closing in on a loan for Lucas Stassin from Saint-Étienne, with a deal possible in the coming hours. He would join a forward line featuring Isaac Romero and Robbie Ure.

According to La Colina De Nervion, talks are advanced between the clubs, with final details to decide whether he heads to Nervión. The move would meet Luis García Plaza’s call for another attacker.

The push follows other options fading. Petar Ratkov is moving to Levante, Conrad Harder to RC Strasbourg, George Ilenikhena has long been off the radar, and veteran picks such as Joselu Mato were dismissed. Deivid Washington was considered late on before Stassin moved ahead.

The addition is considered independent of departures. The pursuit is not tied to possible exits for Rubén Vargas or Fábio Cardoso, with the focus on boosting LaLiga resources.

Born 29 November 2004 in Braine-le-Comte, Stassin came through Anderlecht and debuted in 2022. He joined Westerlo a year later, scoring 11 Pro League goals before moving to France.

He signed for Saint-Étienne in August 2024 for close to €10 million and scored 12 in his first Ligue 1 campaign, plus several assists, then posted solid numbers in Ligue 2. A Belgium under-21, he debuted for the senior team in 2026.

A right-footed centre-forward at 1.84 metres, he is a penalty-box finisher with sharp movement and clean technique. He also runs in behind and offers vertical options. Further developments will show if he becomes one of Sevilla’s late arrivals.
